21 May 2021

The World Health Organization has designated 2021 the International Year of Health and Care Workers, launching a year-long campaign under the theme “Protect. Invest. Together.”

Good Neighbors along with a number of important partners are hosting a webinar on Strengthening the Public Health System for Maintaining Essential Health Services during the COVID-19 Pandemic on May 25, 2021 at 11:00 (GMT).

As COVID-19 continues to devastate countries globally, the pandemic has severely challenged and impacted public health systems all over the world. Healthcare workers in particular bore the brunt of the pandemic as recurrent widespread infections and national lockdowns meant health professionals worked around the clock, in extreme circumstances and often under immense pressure.

Through the participation of and discussion with a diverse panel of experts, this webinar will expand on how we can protect, invest in, and work together with healthcare professionals to maintain essential health services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will be moderated by Dr. Haeun Seong, Representative of Good Neighbors International Cooperation Office in Geneva and will feature a panel of prominent public health specialists.

The webinar will be conducted in English and open to anyone interested in the topic. The event will not require registration and will be broadcasted on YouTube, with slides used for Q&A during the live event. For more details, please see the full programme.
