We are very pleased to announce that Steve Langdon will be joining Good Neighbours UK our new Chair of Trustees.

Steve brings over 26 years of experience in the International Humanitarian and Development sector, having held senior roles such as CEO, Director of Programmes, Humanitarian Director, and Regional and Country Director. His extensive career has spanned more than 25 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, as well as the UK, Ireland, and Spain.

Steve has a strong background in managing International NGOs, handling NGO mergers and acquisitions, crisis and change management, and ensuring safety and security in various operations. He has led numerous emergency humanitarian response programs in fragile or conflict situations and overseen long-term development programs in developing countries. Steve had this to say:

“It is a privilege to have been offered the opportunity to join Good Neighbours UK as its new Chair of Trustees and to build on the amazing work of its staff and trustees. I am looking forward to ensuring that we continue to put the people we work with at the heart of everything we do and that we work together to support them to improve their lives and their communities”

Steve’s appointment comes at a crucial time for NGOs and the international development sector in the UK. The current political climate, characterised by significant shifts due to the recent general election, poses both challenges and opportunities for the sector. As an organisation committed to localisation and human rights, Good Neighbours UK, hopes to channel this renewed focus on social justice into the regions and communities that need it the most. We believe Steve will be an invaluable asset in guiding us to happen.

GNUK Director Zarina Douglas-Sori had this to say about Steve’s appointment:

“I am delighted to welcome Steve Langdon as our new Chair of Trustees. His wealth of experience in managing INGOs and international humanitarian and development programmes will help us to strengthen our community development and humanitarian work across the world.”
