Good Neighbours UK has donated PPE for TDAS staff to help protect those within the refuge from the spread of Covid-19.

Trafford Domestic Abuse Services (TDAS) is a registered charity that supports individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.

During the global crisis, their vital face to face service had to be put on hold. Sadly, due to the lock-down situation, the service TDAS provides has been more in demand than ever.

Individuals and families who are in lock-down within the TDAS refuge come into contact with shift support staff who live in the wider community.

“We are desperately wanting to get back to providing our face to face services as we know this is so important for the families that we support. Demand for our services has increased and we need to reach out to those in need so by having the equipment to protect staff and service users we can now do this sooner and we are ever so grateful”. Samantha Fisher CEO at TDAS

The cost of PPE equipment for the staff is prohibitive for small scale charities. However, the provision is essential for the well being of everyone within the refuge.

“We hope this donation will make a difference to TDAS as we have at least two goals in common: that every child is protected and that people can exercise their right to health. The service TDAS provides is much in demand at the moment and we’re happy to be able to help the refuge get back to doing their important work”. David King, Partnerships and Operations Manager, Good Neighbours UK
